Dec. 5- 6 

Holiday Open House at Jodar Winery. Fun holiday food and wine pairings. Wine specials, gift items and gift boxes available. Winemaker available to sign bottles for that special gift. 

Dec. 5

Repeal of Prohibition Celebration at several Apple Hill area wineries. We will be pulling out special wine selections in honor of the historic repeal of Prohibition. Come and party in period style as you travel back in time to visit these rebellious wineries while enjoying fine wines: Boeger Winery, David Girard Vineyards, Gold Hill Vineyard & Wofford Acres. Proceeds from ticket sales donated to Mother Load Rehabilitation Center of Placerville. Vintage cars and costumes encouraged! 3 – 9 pm. $15.

Italian Feast and Barbera Release Party at Perry Creek 12-4p.m. Free Event! Celebrate our new 2007 Estate Barbera, enjoy some fantastic Italian fare, and dance to traditional Italian music. RSVP by Dec. 2 at 530-620-5175 or events@perrycreek.com.

Santa at Perry Creek Winery 1-3 p.m. Free Event! Come to the winery, bring the kids, and do some holiday shopping in our tasting room for family and friends.  Mulled spice wine and holiday treats in the tasting room every weekend.

David Girard Vineyards will host the authors of “Wine-Oh! Guide to California’s Sierra Foothills” at a festive book signing event. Taste more than a dozen El Dorado wineries that will also be in attendance. Lite appetizers and live music. 1 – 4 p.m. Free.

Dec 12

Holiday Open House at David Girard Vineyards. Enjoy piping hot curry pumpkin soup from Sierra Rizing Bakery and Amuse Bouche from Beth Sogaard Catering. Let us be the host as you enjoy these great holiday treats & wine specials!! 12-4pm. Free.

Stop by Miraflores Winery and purchase your holiday cheeses. We will have a cheese and wine pairing 1-3pm in the cellar. Tasting is free!

“The Wild Thing—A Gastronomic Adventure” at Miraflores Winery. This elegant wine and food pairing is one of our most deliciously attended events. A Wild Game Menu is prepared by Chef Christian Masse of Allez. Fondue cheese bar, along with fine cheeses presented by Dedrick’s Cheese. Fat Cakes and Desserts. The menu is paired perfectly with Miraflores wines and the setting is absolutely elegant. Reservations a must: 530-647-8505. $24/person, $18 club members.

White sale and wine release reception. Charles B. Mitchell is offering five 2009 estate and Fair Play Vineyards white wines. Additional wines available in 5 cent sale, (buy one at the regular price and the second bottle is 5 cents).

“Bring out the Barrel” in the cellars of more than 20 El Dorado wineries. Tour the region and join our winemakers in their cellars to discover the nuances of the first sip -- straight from the barrel. Bottle your own wine at Charles B. Mitchell. Bring your own bottles, or purchase here, and enjoy bottling your own wines. Zinfandel $4.99, Merlot $6.99, Cabernet Sauvignon $8.99.  Wine stem and lunch included in $5 fee, free to club members.
